BosNews reports: “Christian Man Languishing In Pakistan Jail”
— “A Christian man has been languishing for over three years in a Pakistan jail on charges of “blasphemy against Islam” and his family has expressed concerns over his health, BosNewsLife has established.”
— “Qamar David, a 50-year-old married father with four children, was arrested in 2006 for allegedly sending blasphemous messages against Islam, charges he strongly denies, his defense team told BosNewsLife.”
— “Khalid Gill, a regional leader of rights group All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA), said David was taken into police custody in May 2006 and eventually moved to Karachi Prison in Pakistan’s Punjab province. He said his family was not allowed to see him for two years.”
— “Gill linked the controversial case to a business dispute with Muslims. Rights groups say David is among several innocent Christians who have been detained across Pakistan, where blasphemy legislation has often been misused to settle personal grievances.”

Chicago: Extremist Group Conspires Against Rights
In the Chicago suburbs on December 20, 2009, a group that has conspired to deny Americans their Constitutional and civil rights will be using a government-managed facility to recruit new members to their extremist cause. In this case it will be the extremist Hizb ut-Tahrir America organization, which will be using the Lombard Park District community building in the Village of Lombard.
On July 19, 2009, the Hizb ut-Tahrir America organization held a recruitment meeting in another Chicago suburb of Oak Lawn, Illinois, in the Hilton Hotel. The self-defined extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir America at the July 19 event distributed brochures to the public calling for the “death penalty” for those who committed the “treason” of leaving Islam; this is found on page 62 of Hizb ut-Tahrir’s brochure titled “Islamic reformation.” An electronic form of such public death threats by Hizb ut-Tahrir against “apostates” is on the “official Hizb ut-Tahrir” web site Khilafah.com, linked to the Hizb ut-Tahrir America web page promoting the Lombard, Illinois event. Hizb ut-Tahrir rejects democracy and rejects secular nations, seeking only to promote an international “Khilafah” of Muslims, with its own set of laws.
Hizb ut-Tahrir America has sought to intimidate those who would exercise their Constitutionally-protected religious freedom by stating that in the global “Khilafah” of Muslims those who “publicly abandon Islam” should know “that they will be killed for it.” According to Hizb ut-Tahrir America’s handouts in the Chicago suburbs, those who choose such religious freedom are committing “an open attack on the basis of the state which is Islam, essentially it is viewed as treason and a political attack on the Khilafah in order to undermine it”… which according to Hizb ut-Tahrir America deserves “the death penalty.” On July 19, 2009, in full view of local law enforcement (and reportedly federal law enforcement) in Oak Lawn, Illinois, Hizb ut-Tahrir handed out this brochure calling for “the death penalty” against “apostates” from Islam to a reported 700 attendees at this conference.
Emboldened, Hizb ut-Tahrir America’s latest recruitment activity on December 20 will now be using a government-managed community building in the village of Lombard. There is no public denunciation by government officials. There is no public condemnation of this anti-democracy international Hizb ut-Tahrir organization, with a long history of making death threats both in the U.S. and around the world. There is no public call for Hizb ut-Tahrir to retract its continuing promotion in the United States of a document calling for “the death penalty” against “apostates.”
Wouldn’t we be outraged if white supremacists were using a government-managed community building to hold meetings? Wouldn’t we be more than outraged if such a white supremacist group had been calling for the “death penalty” for white Americans who disagreed with their supremacist views? Wouldn’t we be demanding legal and law enforcement action to end such a conspiracy to violate others’ civil rights through intimidation?
At what point are open and public death threats (in writing no less) by extremist roups to specific identity groups recognized by our government and law enforcement as nothing less than conspiracies to violate protected American civil rights? At what point is the use of public facilities to call for the “death” of identity groups recognized as a hate crime?
In America and around the world, we have seen the consequences of failing to take action against extremist groups inciting hatred against others with death threats. Hizb ut-Tahrir and similar groups’ calls for “death” against others is considered a call to action for those who share this philosophy of hate. Just last month, on November 2, in Arizona, a 20 year old girl Noor Almaleki died from an attack by her father for not adhering to what his family told the Arizona Republic were “Muslim values.” We are certain that the majority of Muslim Americans would reject such views, but we have also seen similar killings in Ohio, Indianapolis, Texas, and Georgia. Who is next to die as a result because of such jate?
Death threats by extremist organizations have very real, very deadly consequences. It is past time for Illinois and the federal government to act on the conspiracy by Hizb ut-Tahrir America to deny Americans’ freedom of religion, by its publicly calling for the death of those who seek such freedoms. It is not only an outrage; it is also a growing conspiracy to use intimidation tactics of death threats to violate our rights as American citizens.

Slavery in Pakistan: “Girl sold in open auction”
Pakistan: “Girl sold in open auction”
— The Nation reports – “no one condemned” the open slavery sale:
— “A 20-year-old girl was auctioned at village Badani Bhutto of Taluka Kashmore in consideration of Rs2,70,000 on Saturday.”
— “Azizan, daughter of late Allah Bux Bhutto, was divorced on the allegation of Karo-kari some time back. She is stated to be mother of two children and was residing with her brother who held the open auction for her ‘sale’ at village Badani Bhutto.”
— “A large number of villagers showed interest in the auction that started with Rs50,000 and ended at Rs270,000. Bilawal Bhutto, 50, of the same village purchased her for the said amount. Initially he paid Rs210,000 for the girl.”
— “Maulana Azizullah Bhutto performed their nikah later.
— “It is irony of the situation that no one condemned the inhuman act. The groom will take the bride to his house after paying the rest of the amount. The auction money was distributed equally among all the brothers of the girl.”

Pakistan: “Allegedly Poison Christian Employees to Death”
— CDN reports: “Two brothers die, third in critical condition, after complaining they were not paid.”
— “Muslim employers of three Christian sanitation workers at a banquet/wedding hall here allegedly poisoned the three workers yesterday, killing two of them; at press time the third was struggling for life in intensive care.”
— “The father of the three workers, Yousaf Masih, said the owner of the hall, along with the manager, poisoned his sons because they were Christians who had dared to ask for pay owed to them.”
— “Imran Masih, 29, and Irfan Masih, 25, died at the Ferozewala Pul Banquet & Marriage Hall after being forced to drink something that was heavily poisoned, Yousaf Masih said. The third worker, 23-year-old Aakash Masih, was in critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit of Civil Hospital Gujranwala, in Punjab Province.”
— ” ‘It appears from the position they were in that they were forced to consume some kind of poisoned drink, or a drug, and they were left there to die,’ Yousaf Masih said. ‘The administration of the banquet and wedding hall did not call a hospital or take them to a hospital – instead they called us after the death of two of our loved ones.’ “
Chicago: Anti-Democracy Hizb ut-Tahrir Group Event in Lombard, IL on December 20
Once again, another village in the Chicago suburbs will be the target of a public event by the anti-democracy, religious extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir on Sunday, December 20 – this time using a government-managed community center in Lombard, Illinois.
Hizb ut-Tahrir is an extreme group that is opposed to democracy and religious freedom, has called for the killing of Jews, recently called for whipping of homosexuals and stonings to combat AIDS, has reportedly called for the murder of a university official in Bangladesh, and in July distributed pamphlets in Chicago’s Oak Lawn suburb calling for the “death penalty” for those who leave Islam. Hizb ut-Tahrir is an international organization that according to a former member Ed Husain, Hizb ut-Tahrir calls for an “expansionist, violent, totalitarian Islamist state.” According to BBC and the Daily Telegraph, Hizb ut-Tahrir has been linked to calls for killing Jews and Hindus, radicalizing individuals to become suicide bombers, and according to the New Statesman has been linked to high-level terrorists.

Hizb ut-Tahrir America is holding its latest group event in the Chicago suburban village of Lombard, Illinois on the subject “Crisis in Pakistan – Current Events & Future Direction.” Hizb ut-Tahrir America opposes the Pakistan government’s military efforts against the Taliban terrorists in Waziristan, which is a primary haven for both the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.

In July, the London Times reported on British members of Hizb ut-Tahrir that had been incited to go to Pakistan to seek to influence Pakistan military members and others to instigate a “coup” against the current Pakistan government. The London Times report described how Hizb ut-Tahrir members’ “aim was to subject Muslim and western countries to Islamic rule under sharia law, ‘by force’ if necessary”… where ” ‘every woman would have to cover up’ and stoning to death for adultery and the chopping off of thieves’ hands would be the law, he said.” The London Times report added that Hizb ut-Tahrir aims of “Islamic rule would be spread through ‘indoctrination’ and by ‘military means’ if non-Muslim countries refused to bow to it. ‘Waging war’ would be part of the caliphate’s foreign policy.”
Those seeking to be involved in violent Violent Extemism have been drawn to Pakistan, with five Americans from the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington DC arrested in Pakistan last week; according to CBS News, they sought to promote “jihad.” Hizb ut-Tahrir Pakistan’s manifesto calls for all male children at age 15 to get military “Violent Extemism training” (page 37).

While the village of Lombard is promoting “Peace,” Hizb ut-Tahrir America seeks to use Lombard community facilities to incite Americans in Chicago with its perspective of events in Pakistan. Unlike July 2009, when Hizb ut-Tahrir America rented a private facility (Holiday Inn in Oak Lawn, IL), this time Hizb ut-Tahrir will be renting space from a public building from the Village of Lombard Parks District (similar to Hizb ut-Tahrir Canada’s approach in Mississauga, Canada in July 2009.)
Hizb ut-Tahrir America has rented the Lombard Community Building at 433 East St. Charles Road for their December 20, 2009 event from 5:00 to 6:30 PM Central Time. We are certain that the Village of Lombard Parks District and Lombard Government has no idea who and what Hizb ut-Tahrir is, nor would they even think to inquire. We urge readers to contact the Lombard government and media to make them aware of this.

Like Hizb ut-Tahrir Canada’s use of a government facility for their event in July, Hizb ut-Tahrir America is counting on use of such government facilities to spread anti-democratic views and opposition to religious freedom by using smaller cities’ parks and recreation facilities, anticipating that there will be limited scrutiny to their applications for use of government facilities.
In recent weeks, a major United Kingdom university stopped the Hizb ut-Tahrir from using public university facilities for a debate. On December 10, BBC reported that attempts by the Hizb ut-Tahrir to hold a public event at Queen Mary College was canceled once the media reported about them. In their report BBC stated about Hizb ut-Tahrir that “A leaflet displayed on its website once urged Muslims to ‘kill [Jews] wherever you find them’.” A spokesman for Student Rights told BBC that “Hizb ut-Tahrir speakers have been known to condone suicide bombings and support Islamist movements which undertake terrorist acts such as Islamic Violent Extemism.”
In July 2009, Hizb ut-Tahrir America held an event at a Chicago suburban Oak Lawn Illinois Holiday Inn attacking democracy, promoting supremacism, and distributing pamphlets calling for the “death penalty” for those who commit the “treason” of leaving Islam (pamphlet pages 62 and 67). [This pamphlet “‘Islamic Reformation’ – Exposing the battle for hearts and minds” continues to be distributed by Hizb ut-Tahrir, through its “official” web site Khilafah.com, linked to Hizb ut-Tahrir America’s website promoting the December 20 event in Lombard, Illinois.]
Local Chicago media reported on the July 2009 Hizb ut-Tahrir event, as did national media such as FOX News, interviewing Responsible for Equality And Liberty (R.E.A.L.)‘s Jeffrey Imm on the subject on July 19 and July 20. R.E.A.L.’s Jeffrey Imm led an all-day, pro-democracy protest to Hizb ut-Tahrir’s Oak Lawn event, which drew between 30 and 50 attendees.Muslims such as Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD), reject the anti-democratic message of Hizb ut-Tahrir as a “Violent Extremist indoctrination group.” In AIFD’s comments regarding Hizb ut-Tahrir America’s July 2009 event in the Chicago Oak Lawn suburb, AIFD stated that:
“Hizb ut-Tahrir is an Islamist network that is committed to creating an Islamic Caliphate that spans the globe. The organization is banned in Germany and Russia as well as several Arab countries and targets Muslim children between the ages of 9 and 18. Many compare their efforts to organizations like the Hitler Youth. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, is counted among their alumnus.”
Dr. Jasser stated that “Hizb ut-Tahrir preaches an ideology that calls for the destruction of the principles that America is founded on.”
Others reported on the July 2009 Chicago Hizb ut-Tahrir event including the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT), led by former CNN analyst Steven Emerson, with reports stating “Anti-Semitic, Anti-Christian Propaganda on Display at Caliphate Conference,” and “Hizb Ut-Tahrir: Shariah Takes Precedence over U.S. Constitution.”
BBC television broadcast on its Panorama television show on the Hizb ut-Tahrir, interviewing a British “influential Muslim figure” who stated about Hizb ut-Tahrir to BBC: “I believe that if Hizb ut-Tahrir are not stopped at this stage and we continue to let them to politicize and pollute the youngsters’ minds and other gullible peoples minds, that what will happen in effect is that these terrorism acts and these suicide bombings that we hear going on around us in foreign countries, we will actually start seeing these incidents happening right outside our doorsteps.”

We support our unqualified, universal human rights for all. We urge Hizb ut-Tahrir supporters to drop the burden of the hate of supremacism from their hearts, and to rejoin the family of humanity in support of our universal human rights.

Epoch Times: “International Human Rights Day – Comments Made At National Press Club”
The Epoch Times
December 12, 2009
By Gary Feuerberg
Epoch Times Staff

WASHINGTON — International Human Rights Day, December 10, received scant world attention this year, apart from a handful of people and cities around the globe. In the nation’s capital, a few people spoke at a forum at the National Press Club, using this occasion to call attention to what they said were particularly egregious violations of human rights.
Sixty-one years ago, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) was adopted and proclaimed by the General Assembly of the United Nations, following the horrors and human tragedies associated with World War II and the Holocaust.
“Universal human rights” has become an accepted concept that encompasses all nations, religions and elasticities. Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, said last year that the UDHR acknowledged the “inherent dignity and equality of all human beings.”
On Dec 10, we not only remember to support universal human rights, “but also we remember those who have denied them, including totalitarian and supremacist nations and ideologies of the world…,” said Jeffrey Imm, representing “Responsible for Equality and Liberty (R.E.A.L.),” which sponsored the event held at the National Press Club.
R.E.A.L., consisting of all volunteers from the U.S. Canada, UK, and Europe, is a new organization that started this year. R.E.A.L. also sponsored a public meeting acknowledging human rights day in Nuremberg, Germany as well as private meetings in Chicago and Los Angeles. [edit: note I stated New York, not Chicago].
Many Islamic countries in violation of universal human rights
Individuals and nations violate universal human rights when they don’t make “equality and liberty” their number one priority, according to Imm. This is a high standard to meet in today’s world. This forum focused on two major violators of universal human rights: the governments of Moslem majority countries enforcing religious or Sharia law, and totalitarian communist China.
Two countries mentioned most frequently in this event, Pakistan and China, were declared by the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), as Countries of Particular Concern (CPC) — a list of 13 nations that are the worst offenders of religious freedom. Egypt, also mentioned often, is on the Commission’s “Watch List.”
The use of blasphemy laws against Christians in Pakistan beginning in the 1980s has damaged the harmony among religious communities, according to Nazir Bhatti, President of Pakistan Christian Congress. Bhatti cited more than 7000 cases of these laws that occurred from 1984 to 2009. “Thirty-two [persons] accused of blasphemy were murdered in jails, police lockups or in streets by hands of radical Islamic elements,” said Bhatti.
Pakistan was declared an Islamic Republic in 1973, and their constitution and legislation proclaimed Pakistan to be home to Muslims only, according to Bhatti. The USCIRF states that Pakistan’s blasphemy laws “commonly involve false accusations and result in the lengthy detention of and violence against Ahmadis, Christians, Hindus, and Muslims on account of their religious beliefs.”
In the 1980s, amendments were added to the blasphemy laws that imposed capital punishment, said Bhatti. Apparently, the law may influence public opinion. Imm cited a Pew Global Research poll conducted in Pakistan last Aug, which found that 78 percent believe in the death penalty for those who made the choice to leave Islam.
“The blasphemy law was used by the Muslim majority in Pakistan to settle personal disputes and business rivalries against Christians…after 1986, said Bhatti. Christian villages “were attacked by Muslim mobs and hundreds of homes set on fire.” He cited 10 towns where the churches were attacked and worshippers gunned down. The Holy Bibles were desecrated, pastors were gunned down and moreover children and women were burnt alive,” said Bhatti. He would like to see the rppeal of the blasphemy laws and the Sharia law on the 20 million Pakistani Christians.
No less incensed by the imposition of Sharia law was Ashraf Ramelah, President of Voice of the Copts, and an Egyptian. He spoke on behalf of Christians of Egypt (known as Copts). “We demand an end to kidnapping minor Christian girls, forcing them to convert to Islam. Those girls are often raped and tortured using inhuman techniques by Muslim extremists.”
Ramelah said: “Any crime committed against a Coptic woman[in Egypt] is treated without morality, conscience and legal deterrence….In examining what happened only in [Egyptian President Hosni] Mubarak’s era, it’s effortless to point out no single kidnapper was brought to justice, in spite of the gravity of the crime and its frequency.”
Ramelah charged that the reason that nothing is done and why there is no official count of the number of girls harmed is due to the complicity on the part of Egyptian law enforcement and the kidnappers.
Imm expressed his strong disapproval of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) — an organization of 57 nations with mostly Moslem majorities — when in 1990, it created the Cairo Declaration of Human Rights in Islam (CDHRI). Imm said the CDHRI is an attack on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Bhatti said the adoption of the CDHRI was expressing “no confidence in UDHR” and the supremacy of Sharia law.
“[The OIC] made a conscious decision to deny our unqualified universal human rights, other than those rights allowed by interpretations of Islamic Sharia law,” said Imm.
Recently, the OIC has attempted to pass at the UN a “defamation of religion” resolution, which Leonard A. Leo, chair of USCIRF, called an attempt to “create a global blasphemy law.” Leo said on Oct. 24 that this resolution really “promotes intolerance” and would be used to empowered repressive governments and religious extremists to suppress and punish members of minority religions and sects.
Many of the OIC nations were signatory to the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989), which is a document that applies UDHR principles to children. These OIC countries are on record expressing “reservations” on those rights, according to Imm.
“We have seen a growing problem of child marriages, arranged marriages, and ‘honor killing’ violence in many of these nations that claim to be advocates of children’s rights. …Somalia is a nation where a 13-year-old girl has been publicly stoned to death as punishment by an Islamic Sharia so-called court for being the victim of gang rape. But an epidemic of violence against children is also found in many other OIC countries,” said Imm.
Falun Gong practitioners share experiences of Chinese Communist torture
A local Falun Dafa practitioner, Lisa Tao, discussed some of the ordeals she and other practitioners suffered when they lived in Communist China. Ms. Tao grew up in China and lived through the Great Cultural Revolution, when her father and four other members of her family were killed.
“I was also frequently beaten and many times I was close to being beaten to death,” said Tao. Tao was “guilty” of being born into a wealthy family which the communist regime targeted for special humiliations and punishments.
After immigrating to the United States, Ms. Tao became a practitioner of Falun Gong, which China has persecuted since 1999. Tao has become involved in daily protests at the Chinese Embassy in Washington.
Tao brought with her to the conference evidence in the form of real people who suffered under the current Chinese regime or are relatives of such persons. Tao introduced Ms. Quiying Wang, who was sent to a labor camp for practicing Falun Gong.
“One day in June 2000 at the Tuanhe Deployment Center in Beijing, police ordered her to take off all her clothes and squat in the sun, from 10 a.m. in the morning until 11. p.m. In the days that followed, she was also forced to stand still from 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., 17 hours everyday, for nine days,” said Tao.
Tao introduced Jin Pang, who said that her mother and aunt were sentenced in October 2008 to 10 and 9 years, respectively, for practicing Falun Gong. Ms. Pang described the interrogation when her mother was arrested in August 2008 during the Beijing Olympics. Over10,000 Falun Gong practitioners were arrested before and during the Olympics, according to the Falun Gong Human Rights Working Group, not because the regime was concerned about practitioners interfering with the Olympics, but so it could use the Olympics as a pretext to intensify its persecution of Falun Gong.
Pang said her mother’s interrogation in the Weifang detention center lasted five days. “Six people took turns to interrogate her. During these 100 plus hours, she was not allowed to close her eyes even for a second, and if she did, they would pour cold or hot water on her. They also forced her to continually sit on an iron chair. She was tortured so badly that she lost control of her bowels,” said Pang. They stopped for a day and then resumed the torture for another three nights.
“The Chinese Communist regime is a devil,” said Tao. “Its destructive nature can never change. As long as it exists, it will not stop killing. This persecution can be stopped only if the [Communist] Party dissolves.”
