Stormfront Forum Member Daniel Cowart Pleads Guilty to Terrorist Plot Against Black Americans

Stormfront forum member Daniel Cowart pleaded guilty on March 29, 2010 “to eight counts in a federal indictment charging him with crimes related to a racially-motivated plot to murder dozens of people.” Daniel Cowart could get between 10 to 75 years in prison for this terrorist plot. According to the Associated Press, “Under a plea deal, lawyers on both sides agreed to recommend that Cowart serve between 12 and 18 years in prison. However, terms of the agreement allow U.S. Dist. Judge J. Daniel Breen to ignore the request and sentence Cowart to considerably more time. But if the judge ignores the recommendations, Cowart would have the option of withdrawing his plea.”

Responsible for Equality And Liberty (R.E.A.L.) has been reporting on this racist terrorist plot. The October 24, 2008 federal affidavit stated that Daniel Cowart and his co-conspirator Paul Schlesselman planned to kill 102 individuals and Barack Obama.

According to the October 24, 2008 federal affidavit in this case, “Each individual claims to have very strong beliefs and views regarding ‘White Power’ and ‘Skinhead’ views. The individuals began discussing going on a ‘killing spree’ that included killing 88 people and beheading 14 African Americans.” The number 88 is significant for Nazi white supremacists as representing the symbols HH, as H is the 8th letter of the alphabet. It is their code for “Heil Hitler.” The number 14 has a similar significance for two white supremacist 14-word slogans (ADL, additional reports).

The affidavit also states “while driving around Cowart and Schlesselman observed a church and decide to shoot a window out.” The affidavit identifies the target as the Beech Grove Church of Christ in Brownsville, Tennessee.

On March 29, 2010, the Department of Justice stated that:

“Daniel Cowart pleaded guilty today to eight counts in a federal indictment charging him with crimes related to a racially-motivated plot to murder dozens of people, the Justice Department announced.”

“Cowart pleaded guilty to threatening to kill and inflict bodily harm upon a major candidate for the office of President of the United States, conspiracy, interstate transportation of a short-barreled shotgun, interstate transportation of a firearm for the purpose of committing a felony, unlicensed transportation of an unauthorized short-barreled shotgun, possession of a short-barreled shotgun, intentional damage to religious real property, and discharge of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.”

“Cowart, 21, of Bells, Tenn., admitted to conspiring with Paul Schlesselman of West Helena, Ark., to engage in a killing spree specifically targeting African-Americans. He further acknowledged that he intended to culminate these attacks by assassinating President Obama, a U.S. Senator and a presidential candidate at the time of the planned attacks. Cowart also admitted to shooting the window of the Allen Baptist Church in Brownsville, Tenn. Under the plea agreement, Cowart faces a sentence of at least 10 years and could face up to 75 years in prison. ‘Despite great civil rights progress, this unthinkable conspiracy serves as a reminder that hate-fueled violence remains all too common in our country,’ said Thomas E. Perez, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division. ‘Tragedy was averted thanks to the capable work of the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department and their willingness to work with the ATF, the Secret Service and the FBI.’ ‘Crimes committed against individuals because of their race will not be tolerated,’ said Lawrence J. Laurenzi, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee. ‘I commend the work of the investigative agencies in thwarting what could have been a series of tragic events.'”

Daniel Cowart has been linked to the Nazi organization “Supreme White Alliance (SWA),” and has been photographed at an “Adolf Hitler Birthday Party” with SWA members, and has also been reported as a forum member of Stormfront.

In October 2008, CBS reported that “CBS News traced Cowart’s email and discovered that he is a forum member of the website StormFront.org, reportedly the nation’s largest website for white supremacists known as ‘white-power.'” Stormfront is identified as a “white nationalist hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).

Stormfront forum member Daniel Cowart’s case is not the only instance of this groups’ supporters links to hate, threats, and violence. Other Stormfront forum members have been reported making threats against Barack Obama, murders of police officers, praising the efforts of U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum terrorist James Von Brunn and calling for similar acts, and praising the 9/11 attackers. Other Stormfront members have also praised the February 18, 2010 terrorist attack on the IRS building in Austin, Texas by Joseph Stack and called for additional attacks on Washington DC, banks, and the media, and other Stormfront members have praised John Patrick Bedell’s March 4, 2010 attack on the Pentagon.

In November 2009 and January 2010, Stormfront forum members posted articles on Daniel Cowart’s case as someone “in our ranks,” and were concerned about the legal outcome of his trial. One of the Stormfront forum members, Saxoness90, who lists her location as the Confederate States of America (“C.S.A.”), believed that Stormfront forum member Daniel Cowart was either “secretly prosecuted” or was “found innocent and equited [sic], and the media is all hushed up hoping no one will ever find out.” The Stormfront forum member goes on to praise Daniel Cowart’s attorney for allegedly objecting that their were not enough whites in the grand jury. Stormfront “Hate Group” Members Praise Bedell’s Terror Attack on Pentagon, Call for More Violence

In the aftermath of John Patrick Bedell’s attack at the Pentagon wounding two police officers and resulting in his own death, members of the “white nationalist hate group” Stormfront started praising John Bedell’s actions and calling for additional violence against the U.S. government. (ABC has also reported on previous confrontations that Bedell had with law enforcement, and AP reports that John Patrick Bedell also had a history of mental illness.)

On March 4, 2010, John Patrick Bedell went to the Pentagon with two semi-automatic pistols, with reports of “more than two dozen magazines of ammunition with him during the shooting,” and even more ammunition in his automobile; one Pentagon police officer stated “there were a lot of bullets fired.” His objective was clearly to kill many people at the Pentagon in a terrorist attack, an objective that Stormfront “white nationalist” members openly praise today.

Stormfront “white nationalist” members published John Bedell’s manifesto on the “hate group” web site, viewing Bedell’s 9/11 conspiracy and anti-government rants as justification for their cause, stating that it “‘hints’ around that it is the JEWS causing all of these problems,” and claiming that his attack was on the “ZOG” (Zionist Occupied Government). [Note: Bedell’s manifesto makes no mention of Jewish people.] Stormfront “white nationalists” stated that they shared Bedell’s that the U.S. federal government was a “criminal conspiracy.”

Other Stormfront “white nationalists” complained that John Bedell didn’t aim high enough in his attack on the Pentagon, and stated that such terrorism was not sufficiently effective because it was only going after people “with no power, no connections,” and comparing the attack on an ant hill, stating that such “actions are without significance unless you can get to the queen.” Stormfront members called for more escalated terrorist attacks against higher profile individuals, stating that there were thousands “on this planet whose removal from it would make it a much better place for millions of others. It could one of any number of people in professions such as Broadcasting, Banking, Manufacturing, Politics, Law, Law Enforcement, Bureaucrats, Academia, etc.”

Still Stormfront “white nationalists” praised such “lone wolf” terrorism in general. Stormfront members stated even though they felt “a swift action by many would be ideal to take down the power structure,” “if even only 1 per day were to be accomplished by ‘Lone Wolves,’ that would still be sufficient enough to force them to keep their heads down and cower in fear.” Another Stormfront “white nationalist” stated that “If enough people did it, eventually somebody important could be gotten to by sheer attrition.”

Stormfront members also compared Bedell’s attack to the Joseph Stack’s terrorist attack on the IRS building in Austin, Texas (describing it as “a good plan”) which as previously reported, Stormfront members viewed Stack as a “hero.” Stormfront members continue to praise Joseph Stack’s Texas terrorist attack and continue to call for additional attacks on America.

(Stormfront’s co-leader Derek Black continues to have a radio show twice a week promoting “white nationalism” on WPBR-AM in West Palm Beach.)

John Patrick Bedell, 36, from Hollister, California, had published a manifesto claiming that a “criminal organization” had seized control of the United States federal government, and this “conspiracy” was responsible for the 9/11 attacks. In his manifesto “Directions to Freedom,” John Patrick Bedell stated that this “criminal organization would use its powers to convert military, intelligence, and law enforcement bureaucracies into instruments for political control and the domination and subjection of society, while discrediting, destroying, and murdering honest individuals within those services that work to root out corruption and faithfully serve their fellow citizens. This organization, like so many murderous governments throughout history, would see the sacrifice of thousands of its citizens, in an event such as the September 11 attacks, as a small cost in order to perpetuate its barbaric control.”

On his Wikipedia web site, Bedell sought to address “the truth of events such as the 9/11 demolitions and institutions such as the coup regime of 1963 that maintains itself in power through the global drug trade, financial corruption, and murder, among other crimes.” On his Wikipedia web site, Bedell also provides his connection to the Ludwig von Mises group.

John Patrick Bedell sought to promote “information currency,” and was a member of the libertarian-oriented Ludwig von Mises group (based in Alabama) that focuses on economic studies regarding “liberty in the the tradition of the Austrian school,” where Bedell had an email address jpbedell@mises.com. Bedell had posted on the Mises web site in response to an article on “The Criminality of the State.”

On Bedell’s Facebook web page, he was listed as “friends” with libertarian Lew Rockwell who has described the Pentagon as the “Pentagram.” The day after the Pentagon shooting by his “Facebook friend” John Patrick Bedell, Lew Rockwell wrote about the attack on his blog merely complaining that “The State Protects… the State”... and mocking the police, stating “Don’t they know through all their toughness and arrogance that, in fact, they failed – failed to prevent a crime?” In his blog article, Lew Rockwell does not openly condemn the terrorist attack by John Patrick Bedell, but simply describes his “Facebook friend,” as “a shooter [who] threatens the state…”

Media reports also state that John Patrick Badell attended San Jose State University. On Facebook, Bedell was also “friends” with a fellow San Jose University alumnus of Pakistani descent who was a fan of the group “Khalid ibn al-Walid – the Sword of Allah.” (See background on Khalid ibn al-Walid.)

Bedell also had a web page called “open insurgent” where he exchanged information on programming, crytography, and economics, using Google code username jpbedell.

On Bedell’s Youtube jpbadell2006 page promoting “intellectual currency,” one of his two “subscribers” was a libertarian promoting Ayn Rand videos, who also promoted and subscribed to 9/11 conspiracy theorist “TheAlexJonesChannel,” libertarian “TheChannelOfLiberty’s Channel” promoting Ron Paul, and a masked “anti-terrorist” who called for a “fight against the NWO” (New World Order), among other YouTube channels.

On John Patrick Bedell’s YouTube page one of the commenters after his terrorist attack on the Pentagon states: “2012Ronpaul2012: He shoulda gone to David Rockefeller’s house and wiped out the NWO scum instead of shooting up two poor unsuspecting officers who are no more apart of the global elite than we are.”

Florida: Racist “Hate Group” Seeks Own “Tea Party” Event – Rejected by Tea Party Leaders

On WPBR on February 25, 2010, former Ku Klux Klan and Nazi Party leader Don Black, leader of “white nationalist hate group” Stormfront, stated that “hate is a normal human emotion,” that “we are not afraid to tell the truth” about race, and warned of a white minority in America. The Stormfront-led radio show on WPBR is also promoted on former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke’s web site.

Don Black’s son and co-leader in the Stormfront hate group Derek Black then interviewed invited guest Dennis Morris of Florida West Coast Council of Conservative Citizens (CofCC) Citrus County, who plans to hold an event on Saturday, February 27 in Little Springs Park in Crystal Rivers, Florida. The “white nationalist hate group” CofCC seeks to hold their own type of a racist “Tea Party” in Florida, but according to Dennis Morris all of the other Tea Party leaders in Florida have condemned what they view as CofCC’s hijacking of the Tea Party, and every one of the CofCC’s scheduled speakers have cancelled.

The Council of Conservative Citizens (CofCC) is described as a “white nationalist hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), which has quoted CofCC as stating “God is the author of racism.” Their mission statement declares that they “oppose all efforts to mix the races of mankind, to promote non-white races over the European-American people.”

Stormfront’s Derek Black described Dennis Morris as a “leader in the Tea Party movement,” even though Dennis Morris himself admitted that his efforts have been rejected by other Tea Party leaders.

The CofCC has consistently tried to infilitrate Florida Tea Party events. In January, the Florida CofCC promoted a Florida Tea Party event at the Old Historic Courthouse in Inverness, FL. In its follow-up article, “Florida CofCC works crowd at TEA Party,” the CofCC stated that “Council members passed out 2 boxes of THE CITIZENS INFORMER newspaper, and 250 Council business cards.”

Dennis Morris is described as “the organizer of the Crystal River Tea Party event.” On WPBR, Dennis Morris described the Stormfront-led radio program as “a great show and I honored to be here, it is a privilege.” Dennis Morris stated that he viewed the Tea Parties as a good recruiting grounds for European Americans” to join “his white nationalist hate group” the CofCC. Later, one caller “Andrew” who claimed that he had attended some Tea Party events did call in stating that he agreed with Stormfront and CofCC’s views on racial issues.

Dennis Morris stated that he sought to address the rights of European Americans at his CofCC “Tea Party” event. Derek Black stated that other Tea Party leaders have shown themselves as “too whimpy” on the issues, compared to Dennis Morris and his “white nationalist” CofCC group.

Dennis Morris stated that “most people that have come out against us are the other Tea Party leaders,” and that other groups demanded that he change the name of their event from Tea Party. He stated “we have been denounced by all the other leaders of the Tea Parties.” Dennis Morris complained that other Tea Party leaders had contacted every one of the people he had planned to speak and all of the scheduled speakers backed out of the “CofCC Tea Party” event.

Dennis Morris also stated that he made the mistake of inviting Florida area politicians running for office who rejected his invitation for a CofCC Tea Party event. Dennis Morris complained that such individuals were no different than the “rats, dogs, and Sodomites that are already in office,” because they also rejected CofCC’s efforts to hold a “racist” “Tea Party” event.

Stormfront Members Praise Austin Terrorist as “Hero,” Call for More Terrorist Attacks on America

“White nationalist hate group” Stormfront members are praising the terrorist attack by Joseph Stack on the Austin, Texas IRS building on February 18, 2010. The terrorist attack resulted in the death of a black American Vernon Hunter, who was an IRS employee and a Vietnam veteran.

Stormfront members have a history of seeking mass-casualty terrorist attacks against black Americans and Barack Obama, praising a terrorist who attacked the United States as a “martyr,” committing violence against police, reportedly calling for assassination of Barack Obama, praising the 9/11 terrorists, and defending Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh.

In the case of the Austin terror attack by Joseph Stack on February 18 that resulted in the murder of black American Vernon Hunter, Stormfront members repeatedly praised terrorist Stack as a “hero,” a “minuteman,” called for him to get a Nazi medal of honor, and called for a holiday in his honor.

In addition, they called for more and larger terrorist attacks on U.S. IRS and federal buildings, urging others to direct attacks towards Washington DC, hopefully with “bigger planes” in the future.

They mocked Vernon Hunter’s death as “an early retirement” and laughed that “there are no innocent IRS employees.” The were pleased that “goyim” had picked “the proper targets for retribution,” and believed that “someone is likely to take on” the media, banks, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) in the next terrorist attacks.

They urged others to terrorism, asking “why wait to die?” They quoted Adolf Hitler and Mein Kampf, and called for “death to the ZOG beast!”

Specific comments in praise of the Austin terrorist attack from members of the “white nationalist hate group” Stormfront, included comments (shown as screen shots) such as:

— “If 10,000 people threw themselves at IRS buildings, would that cause the IRS to change its ways?”… then praises the 9/11 terrorists and Oklahoma City terrorist Timothy McVeigh’s attack in 1995.

— “White America needs a Joe Stack Commemoration Holiday!”

— regarding the murder of Vernon Hunter in the terrorist attack “Just consider that an early retirement!” and “We are our own Media now!!!”

— Calls to give the terrorist Stack a posthumous “Charles Lindbergh” or “Friend of the Luftwaffe” medal, urging others to “kill the Fed”

— asking “are there ANY innocent IRS employees???”

— one poster urging violent individuals to “take it directly to the source in DC”

— complaining that the terrorist Stack violence was not enough, and “He needed a bigger plane”

— “Darn shame that this guy didn’t have his own private 747 somewhere”

— “He is not a terrorist the government is a terrorist… [which the poster then describes as a] “ZOG” [“Zionist Occupied Government”]

— “I think the man did a Just action”

— “How many more will have to snap before the masses of White Americans wake up to our plight? How many more will have to make the ultimate sacrifice?”

— mocking the threat against the IRS employees, saying IRS employees should “make sure you watch for incoming planes…” and then he quotes Adolf Hitler

In addition, one Stormfront member “Suepeace” who has a “Stormfront radio show,” referenced an ABC article that mentioned Stormfront members’ praise for Joseph Stack, stating “Thanks for the free publicity.” “Suepeace” goes on to state in another posting on Stormfront “No such thing as bad publicity.”

Right above her posting thanking ABC for its article on Stormfront’s praise of the terrorist attack in Austin, Texas, was an advertisement for Stormfront leader Derek Black’s radio show on WPBR-AM in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Last week, Stormfront was promoting the “American Renaissance” conference in the Washington DC area that was canceled.

His only disappointment was that Mr. Stack had not first joined Stormfront before his terrorist attack so that Stack could discover “a way to fight with a more winning strategy.”

The “American Free Press” was created by Willis Carto and others from the defunct hate publication “The Spotlight.” The Spotlight provided columns for the writing of white supremacist terrorist James Von Brunn who attacked the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in June 2009, and who murdered black security guard Stephen Tyrone Johns. The American Free Press has also quoted terrorist Von Brunn as an “investigator.” Stormfront, which is promoting the February 13 DC event for “American Free Press” and James Traficant, has recently had its members praising Von Brunn’s June 2009 terrorist attacks as the acts of a “martyr.”

On November 2, 2009, the Anti-Defamation League reported that “Former Ohio Congressman Jim Traficant gave a lengthy interview in the November 2, 2009 issue of American Free Press (AFP), a virulently anti-Semitic newspaper, in which he reinforced his own anti-Semitic views. He explained that the newspaper was the only print media to which he has granted an interview since the completion of a seven-year prison sentence for racketeering and bribery. Traficant has also decided to contribute a weekly column to AFP.”

“Traficant gave a ringing endorsement to the anti-Semitic publication, and he encouraged others to read it ‘if they want to know what is truly happening in our government.’ Traficant outlined his views on a number of issues during the interview, published as an eight-page insert. He defended Jon Demjanjuk, accused of serving as a guard at the Sobibor concentration camp during World War II. Traficant, who has long supported Damjanjuk, alleged in the interview that Demjanjuk ‘was taken prisoner by the Nazis’ and forced to act as a guard “under the threat of death.” Traficant has announced plans to travel to Germany to defend the accused Nazi guard.”

“White Nationalists” Seek to Infiltrate “Tea Party” Groups — Finding Mixed Response

“White Nationalist” groups, who seek to create a white-only America, are sharing information with each other online about their efforts to try to infiltrate and influence “Tea Party” organizations. This includes “White Nationalist” groups that are promoting the upcoming “American Renaissance” conference still scheduled at a new, undisclosed location for February 20-21 in the Washington DC area by the “New Century Foundation / American Renaissance” group.

We are aware that some in the Tea Party Movement are recognizing efforts by such white nationalists to infiltrate their political movement, and are addressing and rejecting them. We urge all political movements to prioritize rejecting hate.

The “White Nationalist” group Occidental Dissent members claim that they are seeking to infiltrate Tea Party organizations and their supporters, and in some cases they have reported being rejected from some Tea Party groups for their racist views. The Occidental Dissent views as its mission that “We support the creation of a Jew-free, racially exclusive White ethnostate in North America.”

A prominent contributor to the Occidental Dissent has posted a “speech” that is intended to reach “Tea Party” supporters, stating:
— “We’re all in this together and we’re in this for far more than a balanced budget. We’re in this for even more than the fate of our republic. We’re in this for the fate of ourselves: White Americans. Look around you, stand up for a second and turn in a circle. The media jackals have been giggling about it for months and the ‘experts’ are all upset about it, but none of us will dare to admit the glaringly obvious: that we’re all glaringly White. We’re a people, and not just any people. We’re the people who created this country and the only people to whom it will ever rightfully belong. We are the progeny to whom this republic was entrusted by the founding fathers.”
— “Now, everybody wants to hijack this tea party movement, and we White Advocates are no exception. The libertarians think they own you. The GOP thinks it owns you. Fox News thinks it owns you. Sarah Palin thinks she speaks for you. But you will all get to decide for yourselves, as individuals, which direction to go when the powerful groups destroying our country force you to either go radical or go home. We in the growing White Advocacy movement are there to fight for you and your family against our enemies, not for principles against abstractions and code words.”

The Occidental Dissent speech, also attacking Jews and white “Uncle Toms,” was praised by members of the Neo-Nazi Stormfront organization.

Another “White Nationalist” makes the anecdotal claim that calls for “sterilization” of those on welfare has been well received by those they know who are Tea Party supporters. Such calls for “sterilization” tactics of others has been an inherent solution” by other “white nationalists” such as Jared Taylor, who is leading the planned February 20-21 “American Renaissance” conference scheduled for the Washington DC area.

Coincidentally, Marvel Comics is also publishing an issue of its Captain America with a plot to uncover information about a fictional group called “Watchdog” that had infiltrated the Tea Party Movement. One poster stated that the plot represented “Captain Zion pretending to be Captain America.” The Neo-Nazi white supremacist Stormfront group members have had their own complaints about the story, stating that the fictional character Captain America “has always been a propaganda tool for zionists.”

The troubling issue is that I have seen myself examples of racism and anti-Semitism growing in activist groups. Due to R.E.A.L.’s protests against Communist totalitarianism, someone thought to invite us to an “Anti-Communist” group, led by an individual who uses as his personal slogan the lyrics from the “Ali G” nonsensical song “throw the jew down the well.”

Furthermore, at our own separate event on September 12, 2009 intended to promote equality and liberty as strategies to challenge ideologies of hate, we saw too many individuals at the September 12 Tea Party Rally with racially offensive placards marching down Constitution Avenue, as they passed by our event at the Washington Monument.

In April 2009, the Grassroots Politics Examiner first reported on efforts by the Neo-Nazi Stormfront organization to seek to infiltrate “Tea Party” groups. The Examiner reported in April 2009 that Stormfront members were pleased about the “white” nature of Tea Party events, and the Examiner quoted Stormfront members as stating:
— “What’s so encouraging is that the organizers and participants are pre-dominantly whites… I’m going to take the day off and attend the local one, carrying my Gadsden flag. Encourage others to do the same. Hopefully the beginning of a sense of ethno-centrism.”
— “Go where our people are starting to stand up around symptoms of the problem, and INTERVENE to guide them. Just because these started as an anti-tax protest doesn’t mean that they must be limited and can’t be developed upward toward an explicitly racial mass struggle.”
— “We are intervening to resolve the crisis of White racial leadership, point the way to real racial solutions and organize our people into an independent powerful force that fight for our race by any means necessary to resolve our racial problems with real solutions. No one is going to do the job of the White Nationalists for us.”
— “I think the ‘tea party’ is a good way to meet people with potential. Most people at this event will be white people who are fed up with the direction of things and they are ready to hear how we got into this mess. There are two kinds of people in this world, those who know what the Jews have done and those who do not.”

All effective political movements must reject hate as a priority in reaching the American people. We recognize that, in any mass movement, there will always be those who are extremists or even activists that are not representative of such groups. We recognize the inherent challenges in having a completely consistent message with any volunteer-centric organization or movement.

However, it is important for the Tea Party Movement to be aware that “white nationalists” have specifically targeted its groups for infiltration and influence to promote racist views.

R.E.A.L. believes that a priority of loving our fellow human beings remains an ethical compass for public efforts and mass movements alike. We believe that such a compass can help those who are struggling against the forces of hate.

The “Nazi” and “white nationalist” “hate group” Stormfront is claiming that it will have a twice a week radio show through West Palm Beach radio station WPBR 1340 AM. The Stormfront “hate group” is headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida. According to Stormfront, WPBR 1340 AM has agreed to host a Tuesday and Thursday morning radio show for Stormfront “Don” Black’s son, Derek Black, who also runs Stormfront’s Internet radio program. We urge human rights supporters to contact WPBR radio to find out why they seek to promote “white nationalist” “hate group’s” views over the radio. We will update this posting with any feedback that we or you tell us that you hear from WPBR 1340 AM radio, to allow them to publicly clarify their position.

Inspired by the ideology of “white nationalist hate” promoted on Stormfront promoted by its leaders, Stormfront members have been linked to terrorism such as (1) the terrorist plot by Stormfront member Daniel Cowart to kill 88 black Americans and Barack Obama, (2) Pittsburgh cop-killer and Stormfront member Richard Poplawski who sought to “ramp up the activism” on behalf of “white nationalism” and was talking with fellow “white nationalists” on Stormfront for four hours before killing Pittsburgh police officers, and (3) Stormfront members in January 2010 praising white supremacist Nazi terrorist James Von Brunn as a “martyr” for his June 2009 terrorist attack and murder of a black security guard Stephen Tyrone Johns, and Stormfront members urging others to emulate Von Brunn’s actions and promote “hate with violent passion.”

The incident with the Stormfront member Richard Poplawski and his April 2009 murders of police officers was referenced in a report by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on terrorist threats. Other law enforcement agencies monitor Stormfront activities as part of their terrorism tracking.

In August 2008, conservative group “Right Side News” reported on a threat on Barack Obama’s life by a Stormfront member, reporting that: “Stormfront brings together and provides a forum for members of worldwide hate movements. The content on Stormfront, many times, is of a violent nature. Just yesterday, one of Stormfronts members stated that he hopes United States Senator and Presidential candidate Barack Obama gets assassinated. Another member commented, All it would take is one person.”

Stormfront "Hate Group" Claims to be Getting Radio Program on WPBR

The UK Mirror has described Stormfront’s leader as “former KKK chief and American Nazi Party thug Stephen ‘Don’ Black.”

The Stormfront organization has recently posted messages from its members eulogizing the death of white supremacist Nazi terrorist James Von Brunn who attacked the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC in June 2009; Von Brunn murdered black security guard Stephen Tyrone Johns. Stormfront members have called for others to “hate with violent passion,” have described terrorist Von Brunn as a “martyr,” and have praised the way Von Brunn “gave his life” in his terrorist attack on the Washington DC museum.

Stormfront is on the list of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s (SPLC) hate organizations.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) describes Don Black and Stormfront as follows:

“Stephen Donald ‘Don’ Black is one of the most influential white supremacists in the United States, due to his role as the founder and operator of Stormfront, the most popular on-line meeting place for white supremacists around the world, and for his appearances and speeches at racist and anti-Semitic gatherings. A former Grand Dragon in the Ku Klux Klan, Black now devotes most of his time to running Stormfront out of his home in West Palm Beach, Florida.”

“Black espouses a racist and anti-Semitic ideology. His idea of ‘White Pride World Wide,’ a slogan that appears on the Stormfront Web site, involves demeaning and demonizing Jews and non-whites, while his concept of “victory” for whites includes the creation of ethnically cleansed living spaces. Black claims that blacks and non-white immigrants are increasing in numbers and committing crimes, thereby depriving whites of their majority and power in society. In addition to demonizing blacks and immigrants, Black targets Jews as the cause of societal ills.”

The Anti-Defamation League reports on “white supremacist” Derek Black:

“Derek Black developed his racist views from his parents, especially his father. In addition to running Stormfront, the largest and most popular white supremacist Web site in the world, Don Black is a former Klan leader. He served a three-year federal prison term for attempting to overthrow the government of the small Caribbean island of Dominica, for which he was convicted in 1981. Derek’s mother, Chloe Black, was once married to David Duke.”

“In 2003, at age 14, on the Introduction page to ‘Stormfront for Kids,’ Derek wrote ‘White people are taught in school to be ashamed of their heritage… All the great white accomplishments throughout history are diminished. Therefore, I think that now is the time that all of the white people across the globe should rise above the lies and be proud of who we are.’ “

“By his teen years, Derek had taken an active role in those conferences. In February 2008 and February 2006, he attended the white supremacist American Renaissance conferences. In 2007 and June 2006, Derek attended the white supremacist Council of Conservative Citizens national conferences where he entertained guests with his music. In 2005, he was listed as one of the attendees at another white supremacist conference hosted by David Duke and EURO in New Orleans. Hundreds of white supremacists, including neo-Nazis and Holocaust deniers attended that conference.”

“In August 2007, he attended and reported on the Knights Party Congress, held by long-time Klan leader Thom Robb, and broadcast the event live on Stormfront radio. He now co-hosts a white supremacist show with David Duke on Stormfront radio.”

It also reports that:

“In November 2008, just days after Barack Obama was elected President, Derek Black was a keynote speaker at a conference sponsored by former Klan leader and anti-Semite David Duke and his organization EURO (European American Unity and Rights Organization) in Memphis, Tennessee. A number of white supremacists, including Don Black, racist radio show host James Edwards and Canadian racist Paul Fromm also attended the conference.”

“In his own speech at the conference, Derek made it clear that he was following in the footsteps of the racist leaders who came before him. He repeatedly referred to white supremacists David Duke, Don Black and others who had spoken at the same EURO conference as ‘titans.’ He also claimed that ‘I have never lived in a country that I consider a white country… I’ve never enjoyed the good golden bag of advantage that white people have.’ “

— “WPBR’s programs are in French from 1 p.m. to 6 a.m. — 17 straight hours — mostly for the benefit of Haitian listeners, station manager Marcus Pierrelouis told Hatewatch. Seven hours of programming, between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m., are in English. Black has the 10-11 a.m. slot for his two days.”
