Westboro Baptist Church Hate Group Praises Floods and Tragic Deaths

On May 3 and May 4, 2010, the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) “hate group” praised the death and destruction of recent floods that have affected Tennessee, Mississippi, and Kentucky.  The “Westboro Baptist Church” (WBC) is listed as a “hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

On May 4, 2010, the Environmental News Service (ENS) reported that the death toll from the floods was now up to 29 people.  ENS reported that: “Record-breaking flash floods across Tennessee, Mississippi and Kentucky have claimed the lives of at least 29 people since Friday. In Tennessee, 19 people have died in the severe storms, tornadoes and torrential rains that caused rapidly rising waters and flash flooding across the state. Numerous nursing homes, apartment complexes and residences were evacuated as flood waters moved in on them. Water rescues and helicopter extractions were performed as waters rushed over hundreds of roads through cities, towns and neighborhoods. Many residents have lost all of their possessions as homes were destroyed or sustained major damages.”

On May 3, 2010, the WBC “hate group” stated that “FLOODING STRAIGHT FROM GOD in Tennessee, Mississippi and Kentucky kills 22! Praise Him! GodSmack! It’s God’s wondrous work.  WBC visited Mississippi, Tennessee and Kentucky MANY times; always evil entreated by you southern hypocrites… See the floating dumpster, house and water treatment plant under water! Next – YOUR FIERY DESTRUCTION!”

Then on May 4, 2010, the WBC “hate group” stated: “THANK GOD FOR 27 DEAD AS STORMS POUND SOUTHEAST! Nashville is home of unparalleled grand ole sin.  The good ole home spun south has turned into a cesspool of twanging rebellion… GodSmack! … We sing and praise His power!”

Westboro Baptist Church Hate Group Praises Shooting of Detroit Police Officer

Once again, the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) “hate group” is praising the shooting of a police officer.  It has repeatedly praised attacks on American police officers as part of the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) blog “GodSmack.”

In March, the WBC praised the shooting of a police officer in New York City.  On May 3, 2010, the WBC is now praising the shooting of a police officer in Detroit that resulted in the police officer’s death.

The “Westboro Baptist Church” (WBC) is listed as a “hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

On May 3, 2010, ClickonDetroit reported on the shooting of multiple police officers in Detroit, which resulted in the wounding of four police officers, and the death of Officer Brian Huff.  The report described Officer Huff’s commitment to Detroit law enforcement and the loss to his widow and 10 year old son.  The Detroit news report stated “Huff graduated from the police academy when he was 32. He has worked with in the Public Housing Unit and the Gaming Unit before joining the Eastern District in 2004.”  Officer Huff literally gave his life in his commitment to law and justice in Detroit.

The Westboro Baptist Church “hate group” chose to mock the sacrifice of Officer Huff’s life by praising his shooter, stating “THANK GOD FOR THE DETROIT SHOOTER – 1 OFFICER DEAD; 4 WOUNDED! “God blessed Detroit; they waxed worse in greed, fornication, adultery, and homosexuality…. Monday morning (5/3) on Detroit’s east side a brute raised by doomed american parents opened fire during a breaking-and-entering; one police officer was killed, four were wounded.   It’s the worst news Mayor Bing has had since elected.  GodSmack! Worse/more is coming, because you DON’T obey!… Woe to the inhibiters of the earth! Sing and rejoice!”

Israel: “Jewish Terrorist” Yaakov Teitel Deemed Unfit for Trial in Murders, Hate Crimes

Responsible for Equality And Liberty (R.E.A.L.) supports our universal human rights of freedom of religion, freedom of conscience, and freedom of worship for ALL people — without exception.

R.E.A.L. condemns the actions of any individual who claims to be representing a religious view of any kind when they commit terrorism.  R.E.A.L. is disappointed in the failure of the Jerusalem courts to swiftly and expeditiously prosecute Yaakov Teitel, and we urge the Israeli people and the Israeli government to speak out on this disgrace.

On May 4, 2010, a Jerusalem district psychiatrist submitted an evaluation to an Israeli court that accused “Jewish terrorist” Yaakov Teitel was unfit to stand trial.

In November 2009, American Jewish immigrant to Israel, Yaakov “Jack” Teitel, had been charged with murder and attempted murder, as a result of reported “hate crimes” over a 12 year period against Muslims, Arabs, homosexuals, leftists, Jews, and Messianic Jews.

Israeli Haaretz and other media have described Mr. Teitel as a “Jewish terrorist.”  Haaretz previously reported that Mr. Teitel’s alleged crimes included “two murders, four attempted murders, four cases of incitement, three weapons violations, four cases of illegally manufacturing weapons, one arson and threats motivated by hate.”

In Haaretz’s report “Cool, calculated ‘Jewish terrorist’ shows no remorse in court,” it stated that the “charge sheet states everything was premeditated,” and that Mr. Teitel stated ‘It is a pleasure and an honor to serve my Lord. I do not regret it,’ he shouted during a hearing to extend his remand, adding that he had no doubt that God approved of his actions.”

Both Haaretz and Yedioth Ahronoth have published photographs of Yaakov Teitel smiling at previous trials.

Media Reports and Background:

Haaretz: “Suspected Jewish terrorist unfit to stand trial, evaluation says”
— Israel’s Haaretz news:
“Yaakov (Jack) Teitel was charged last November with the murder of 2 Palestinians, 3 counts of attempted murder.”
Haaretz: “Teitel, a resident of the settlement Shvut Rachel, was charged last November with murdering two Palestinians and attempting to murder three people, including Hebrew University Professor Zeev Sternhell and Ariel teenager Ami Ortiz. Ortiz, from a family of Messianic Jews, was gravely wounded by a bomb packaged inside a Purim gift in March 2008.”
— “In the evaluation, submitted to the court Tuesday, Jerusalem’s district psychiatrist wrote that Teital had been declared unfit as a result of flaws in the way in which he perceived his alleged actions.”
— “It should be noted, however, that the ruling does not affect Teitel’s responsibility for the crimes attributed to him, as he is charged with many separate events spread across eleven years. In order for the defense to claim his mental state affected his accountability for these crimes the defense would have to prove he was legally insane in each one of those incidents.”
— “The evaluation will, however, likely bring about a postponement of Teitel’s trial, until there is an improvement in his mental state.”

Jerusalem Post: “Psychiatrist: Tytel unfit for trial”
February 10, 2010 – Haaretz: “Suspected Jewish terrorist admits to anti-missionary activities”
— “Anti-missionary group gained notoriety in recent years for its actions against Messianic Jews.”
— Haaretz: “Suspected Jewish terrorist Yaakov (Jack) Teitel told his interrogators he was an active member of anti-missionary group Yad L’achim for five years, Haaretz has learned.”

January 12, 2010 – Haaretz: “FBI and Shin Bet began tracking ‘Jewish terrorist’ year before arrest”
— “Teitel refuses to cooperate with his attorney, saying he does not recognize court’s authority.”
— Haaretz: “A year prior to Yakov ‘Jack’ Teitel’s arrest, the Shin Bet and the FBI were in close contact as part of an investigation into bombings targeting homosexuals, messianic Christians and left-wing figures, Haaretz has learned.”
— “The Israeli authorities considered translating the pamphlets on how to make explosive devices the bomber had made for dissemination to other intelligence services in the hope of possibly finding a link through their data bases.”

January 10, 2010 – Haaretz: “U.S. immigrant gets expulsion order for supporting ‘Jewish terrorist'”
“The 22-year-old was vocal in supporting Yaakov Teitel’s alleged murder of a Palestinian.”
— “A young American immigrant was recently expelled from the West Bank for allegedly supporting ‘Jewish terrorist’ Yaakov Teitel.”
— “Teitel was charged in November with two murders, three attempted murders and other acts of violence. The indictment also lists Teitel’s efforts for more than a decade to harm Arabs, gays and lesbians, leftists, police officers and messianic Jews.”
November 13, 2009 – Haaretz: “Cool, calculated ‘Jewish terrorist’ shows no remorse in court”
— Haaretz reports
: “The indictment against Yaakov (Jack) Teitel on Thursday presented an image of a precise, trained terrorist who operated for 12 years, leaving nearly no trace. Until he was caught.”
— “‘It is a pleasure and an honor to serve my Lord. I do not regret it,’ he shouted during a hearing to extend his remand, adding that he had no doubt that God approved of his actions.”

November 2, 2009 – Yedioth Ahronoth: “They’re not scared – Teitel affair attests to lack of deterrence vis-a-vis violent radicals”
— Alex Fishman
: ” It’s impossible that he raised no suspicions for such a long time. But the fact is, nobody informed authorities. Even when he was held up for questioning, he was released for lack of evidence.”
— “So what does the next murderer conclude about the Shin Bet’s ability to cover and penetrate such small communities? There is nobody to fear. Law enforcement authorities don’t reach these places.”

Yedioth Ahronoth reported that:

“Teitel was arrested in Jerusalem in a joint police-Shin Bet operation on October 7. He is suspected of attempted murder, aggravated assault, arms offenses and racial incitement.”

Yedioth Ahronoth also reported that:

“So far, Teitel has confessed to carrying out the following:
* The 1997 murder of an east Jerusalem taxi driver
* The 1997 murder of a Palestinian shepherd south of Mount Hebron
* Placing an explosive device in the Ramallah-adjacent settlement of Eli in 2006 – the device was found and disarmed safely

* Hurling explosives at a police car in June 2007 – no injuries or damage were reported
* Sending a parcel bomb to a messianic family residing in Ariel, which resulted in a 15-year-old boy suffering severe injuries

Westboro Baptist Church Hate Group Cheers on Oil Rig Explosion in Louisiana

The “Westboro Baptist Church,” listed as a “hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center, today cheered on the explosion of an oil rig in Louisiana off the Gulf of Mexico  on the “Westboro Baptist Church” (WBC) blog “GodSmack.”

The oil rig explosion on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, reportedly left 17 injured (7 critically injured).  Updated  reports have stated that the U.S. Coast Guard has suspended the search for 11 missing employees; the missing workers are presumed to be dead.  The Westboro Baptist Church hate group replied “THANK GOD FOR REMINDING BADASS DOOMED america THAT GOD IS IN CHARGE! God hid the bodies!  You can’t worship them!”

After the tragic accident, the Westboro Baptist Church hate group, however, cheered the accident, stating on their blog that:
— “THANK GOD OIL RIG EXPLODED IN GULF OF MEXICO – 12 MISSING; 15 INJURED!”
— “The oil rigs of Louisiana are filthy, especially the conduct of the brutes on board.  At their hand the SCOTUS had to address same-sex sexual harassment.  Voodoo+doomed-america’s-‘Christianity’=wallowing overpaid thugs drilling oil for your slovenly lifestyle.”
— “Tuesday (4/20) an oil rig explosion left 12 missing and 15 seriously injured.  The US Coast Guard is on the scene with cutters and rescue planes.  Your Coast Guard efforts are in vain!  GodSmack!”

The Westboro Baptist Church hate group followed this with another posting that stated:
— “THANK GOD FOR EXPLODING OIL RIG, ADUMBRATING THE END OF THIS REBELLIOUS NATION!”
— “We fervently pray for more human projectile.”

This is another in a pattern of calls by the Westboro Baptist Church “hate group” praising injuries and violence against Americans.

On March 22, 2010, the Westboro Baptist Church “hate group” praised the shooting of a New York City police officer who was arresting an individual suspected of sexual assault of an elderly woman’s home health aide.

Westboro Baptist Church Hate Group Finds Ally in Dove World Outreach

On April 21, 2010, the Dove World Outreach Center also published on their blog “In Support of Westboro Baptist,” that on Sunday April 18, 2010, Dove World Outreach “took part of our Sunday Service time and went as a church to stand with them.”  Dove World held a joint demonstration with the Westboro Baptist Church hate group on April 18, 2010, and posted photographs of the event on their Facebook web page, “DWOC’s Photos – Marching with the Westboro Baptist Church.”

In Dove World Outreach’s April 21 article, they defended the Westboro Baptist Church hate group’s practice of protesting at American soldiers funerals.  In addition, the Dove World Outreach article states that “We have also learned that when you speak out about what God hates, you will be hated. We do not agree with all of Westboro’s methods, but we admire their determination to find radical ways to preach the truth of the Bible, as we do.”

The Westboro Baptist Church is listed as a “hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center.  The SPLC  also wrote about the new alliance.

The Westboro Baptist Church has a history of praising violence against law enforcement officers and praising explosions resulting in injury of Americans.
