— “Two suicide bombers attacked the International Islamic University in Pakistan today, targeting a women’s cafeteria and the Islamic law department. The attack killed at least 4 and wounded 18 others, BBC reports. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack thus far. ”

“One student told the BBC that ‘There were gunshots at first and then two explosions one after the other. One was just outside the gate of the girls’ cafeteria and the other one targeted the head of the department for Sharia studies…I was near that office. Two of my friends were injured, they were taken to the hospital. I am in shock. Now we are not even safe in our universities.'”

According to the announcement, no one would be allowed to shave beard while women would not be permitted to leave houses without Hijab. The announcement further says that colour cloths would also be banned in Taliban-controlled areas including Utmankhail, Satori Khail, Mahmoodabad, Bezot Khail, Mashti Maila, Syed Khalil Baba and Sangra. According to the declaration, the persons not following the instructions would be strictly punished. Taliban have also established check posts in the area.”

“A Christian schoolgirl in Pakistan’s Punjab province was recovering Sunday, October 11, after she was allegedly “ruthlessly beaten” with a bamboo stick by a Muslim headteacher for saying she is ‘a Pakistani’ citizen.”
— 11 year old Nadia Iftikhar: “Our teacher was teaching us about the culture of Pakistan and Pakistani people and  quoted a sentence from the text book saying ‘We are Pakistani and all of us are Muslims’.  At this point I interrupted and said: “Madam, I am also a Pakistani, but not a Muslim instead I am a Christian.”
— “The teacher, identified as Humaira Hassa, ‘got furious and grabbed a bamboo stick and started thrashing in a barbarian way and kept saying all Pakistanis are Muslim, you are not a Pakistani but a Christian,’ the girl said. ‘Your home land is some where in Europe or America,’ the teacher allegedly said.”
— “Nadia added showed scars of the wounds at her back. Classmates said the girl briefly became unconscious, but was eventually brought home. The teacher could not be reached for comment.”

“A man slaughtered his sister’s 25-year-old husband at the victim’s house in Sherazi Mohalla. SHO Docks Yousuf Baloch said that Muneebullah, his cousin Rozi Khan and two others entered Mohammad Ishaq’s house in the wee hours of Wednesday and stabbed him over honour in front of Ishaq’s wife and one-year-old son, adding that the police caught Khan when they raided Bengali Para. Baloch also said that Ishaq and Muneebullah’s sister got married two years ago in Karachi against their families’ wishes, adding that Muneebullah had been threatening Ishaq before he finally killed him.”
