The Tennessean reports on vandalism of a Tennessee mosque, the Al-Farooq Mosque, with crosses and the message “Muslims go home” spray-painted on the exterior of the building.
On February 10, 2010, the Tennessean reported:
— “State, local and federal officials are investigating vandalism discovered this morning at the Al-Farooq Mosque on 4th Avenue South.”
— “The words ‘Muslim go home’ and several crosses were spray-painted in red on the exterior of the building, and an expletive and hate-speech filled note was left at the youth center, according to a board member of the mosque.”
— “‘It was an unexpected thing,’ said Salaad Nur. ‘It kind of shook us.'”
— “Brooks was unsure if there was any physical evidence that might help them solve the crime.”
On February 11, 2010, the Tennessean reported:
— “an expletive and hate-speech filled note was left at the youth center, according to a board member of the mosque”
— “Metro Police Sgt. Brooks Harris of the Specialized Investigations Division said his department will investigate because of the obvious sign that the vandalism could be classified as a hate crime. He said he notified the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation as well as the FBI, to see if federal laws were violated and look for potential similarities with vandalism late last year at a mosque site in Murfreesboro.”

Mansor Mohammad Asad of Toledo, Ohio was arrested Wednesday night on Delta Airlines flight 2485 from Miami to Detroit, according to reports by the Miami Herald, AP, and Reuters. Mansor Mohammad Asad was taken off the Delta Flight 2485 while taxiing on the Miami runway.
Reuters reports that Asad “began making loud anti-Semitic comments and chanting, apparently in Arabic,” and stated that witnesses told Reuters that Asad said “I’m Palestinian and I want (to) kill all Jews.” AP also reports that Asad stated “I want to kill all the Jews” before police forced him off a Detroit-bound plane.
According to the Miami Herald, Asad “berated officers and made racist comments” to them, including telling one to “Go back to Africa you white racist cop!”
AP reports that “witnesses told investigators who boarded the plane that Asad was loud, disruptive and claimed to be Palestinian.” Miami Herald reports that Asad charged and threatened police officers; it reports that Asad was “charged with threats against a public servant, disorderly conduct and resisting an officer without violence to his person.” AP also reports that “The affidavit noted that alcohol didn’t appear to be a factor during the incident.”
Miami Herald reports that “Homeland Security’s Sari Koshetz wrote in a news release late Wednesday night. She said four passengers were taken off a plane from Miami to Detroit after making ‘inappropriate remarks and acting disruptively.’ Police did not release any information about the other passengers.”
AP reports that “FBI spokeswoman Judy Orihuela said there were no indications the disturbance was related to terrorism. The bureau was initially brought in to look into the incident but is no longer involved in the investigation. She said the FBI is treating the disruption as a matter for local authorities.”

February 10, 2009 – Bangor Daily News: “Report: ‘Dirty bomb’ parts found in slain man’s home” — “It says that four 1-gallon containers of 35 percent hydrogen peroxide, uranium, thorium, lithium metal, thermite, aluminum powder, beryllium, boron, black iron oxide and magnesium ribbon were found in the home.
— “Also found was literature on how to build ‘dirty bombs’ and information about cesium-137, strontium-90 and cobalt-60, radioactive materials. The FBI report also stated there was evidence linking James Cummings to white supremacist groups. This would seem to confirm observations by local tradesmen who worked at the Cummings home that he was an ardent admirer of Adolf Hitler and had a collection of Nazi memorabilia around the house, including a prominently displayed flag with swastika. Cummings claimed to have pieces of Hitler’s personal silverware and place settings, painter Mike Robbins said a few days after the shooting.”
— “An application for membership in the National Socialist Movement filled out by Cummings also was found in the residence, according to the report. Cummings’ wife, Amber B. Cummings, 31, told investigators that her husband spoke of ‘dirty bombs,’ according to the report, and mixed chemicals in her kitchen sink.”
News mediaarereporting that white supremacist terrorist James Von Brunn died today at 1 PM at a local hospital in Butner, North Carolina, AP reports from “Denise Simmons, the spokeswoman for the federal prison where von Brunn had been held.” AP reported that Von Brunn received medical care at the North Carolina prison complex, which is used for aging and sick inmates. His death is being eulogized by white supremacists and Nazis who are praising him as a “martyr” and an example for others to “act White.”

Von Brunn had been wounded by return fire, after he shot and killed black security guard Stephen Tyrone Johns at the U.S. Holocaust Museum in Washington DC on June 10, 2009. Von Brunn murdered Johns while Johns was holding the museum door open for Von Brunn. AP also reported that “Officials at the prison hospital had previously said chronic medical problems had complicated a psychiatric evaluation for the suspect, who prior to the shooting had written racist and anti-Semitic screeds on the Internet.”

The New York Times reported that “At the time of the Holocaust museum shooting, the F.B.I. said it knew he had an ‘established Web site that expressed hatred of African-Americans and Jews.’ ” Von Brunn had left a note in his automobile on the day of his terrorist attack on the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum stating that “The Holocaust is a lie… Obama was created by Jews. Obama does what his Jew owners tell him to do. Jews captured America’s money. Jews control the mass media.”

Musa also denies that al-Qaeda was behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and blames it instead on the Bush Administration and the CIA.”

On December 25, 2009, Imam Alim Musa’s Masjid Al-Islam in Washington, D.C. held a fundraiser for the family of Luqman Ameen Abdullah, Islamic Imam of Masjid Al-Haqq located in Detroit, Michigan. The blog for the DC Masjid Al-Islam stated that the FBI had “assassinated” Detroit’s Luqman Ameen Abdullah, and that “we of the As-Sabiqun movement will continue to challenge Zionist American domination of Islamic affairs locally and worldwide.” The Masjid Al-Islam seeks to create replace the current government in the United States and the world with a global extremist caliphate, rejecting the U.S. Constitution and its laws.

On October 28, 2009, FBI agents sought to raid the Masjid Al-Haqq in Dearborn, Michigan, but when Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah fired on FBI agents during the raid, he was killed in a shootout. The October 28 FBI arrests included arrests of individuals in Detroit as well. A joint statement by the Detroit FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s office stated that the eleven suspects “are members of a group that is alleged to have engaged in violent activity over a period of many years and known to be armed.”

In R.E.A.L.’s October 29, 2009 posting, we stated that a federal criminal complaint stated that eleven individuals linked to the head of a Dearborn, Michigan area mosque Masjid Al-Haqq, including Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah, sought to promote violence against the United States government, including calls for attacks on the FBI, attacks on the U.S. federal government, calls for a nuclear attack on Washington DC, and encouraging attacks on police. The federal criminal complaint also documented reports of Luqman Ameen Abdullah’s talking to little children about how many people he had killed, and it also stated that Luqman Ameen Abdullah told another member that “I shot a lot of nigg*rs.”
“The investigation has shown that Luqman Ameen Abdullah, Imam of the Masjid Al-Haqq, in Detroit, Michigan, is a highly placed leader of a nationwide radical fundamentalist Sunni group consisting primarily of African-Americans, some of whom converted to Islam while they were serving sentences in various prisons across the United States. The Ummah is to be ruled over by Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, formerly known as H. “In 1981, Luqman Abdullah was convicted in Wayne County, Michigan of felonious assault and carrying a concealed weapons. Further a check of law enforcement indices shows that in 1979, Abdullah was arrested and charged with resisting arrest and assault on a police officer by the Mobile Alabama Police Department; the disposition of those charges is unknown.”

Farrakhan stated that Nation of Islam founder Elijah Muhammad “met with God… [to]… challenge the government of America, the White people of America and warn them of their inevitable destruction…” According to the Final Call report, “Farrakhan challenged the Black man and woman to stand up and reclaim their rightful place of rulership.”
Farrakhan concluded that “There is nothing in either (Bible or Holy Qur’an) that teaches integration of the righteous with the wicked.”
The report also stated that “Akbar Muhammad [and Farrakhan associate], a world traveler who has been to 139 countries during his work as international representative of the Nation of Islam, said it is important for the people to know the type of respect and honor Minister Farrakhan receives from prominent leaders within the Muslim world. Regarding the Minister’s message, Akbar Muhammad called it a ‘clear warning’ to those involved in ‘diabolical schemes’ to prevent our rise.”
According to supporters of Jamil Alamin, MANA’s call for an alliance of “indigenous Muslims in America” “initiative began almost two years ago when Imam Jamil Al-Amin made a call for the formation of such an alliance.” In October 2009, when reported Violent Extemism plotter Luqman Ameen Abdullah was killed in a shootout in Michigan, the FBI criminal complaint regarding members of the Masjid Al-Haqq’s role as part of the “The Ummah” was as follows – “Their primary mission is to establish a separate, sovereign Islamic state (‘The Ummah’) within the borders of the United States, governed by Sharia law. The Ummah is to be ruled over by Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, formerly known as H. Rapp Brown, who is currently serving a life sentence in the Florence, Colorado Supermax for shooting two police officers in Georgia.” MANA’s Ihsan Bagby disputed this FBI report and indicated that while members of “The Ummah” were “anti-government,” they did not promote violence.
The Final Call report on Farrakhan’s speeech in Chicago concludes with demonstrating the power of Farrakhan’s outreach, stating that “Nare Makhan, a Chicago resident who had just returned from Florida early Sunday morning said, ‘There was so much information that was so empowering.’ ‘It was overwhelming. It’s touching in a way. I’ve never owned a Qu’ran, but now I just bought me a Qu’ran and I am going to study it. I just bought everything to catch up as far as what I think is necessary for me to move forward now in life. It’s a serious hour.’ ”
