— “Faleh Hassan Almaleki, 48, of Glendale, is accused of using his Jeep Cherokee to run over his daughter, 20-year-old Noor Almaleki, and another woman in a Peoria parking lot on Oct. 20. His daughter died of her injuries.”
— “Prosecutors have labeled Noor Almaleki’s death an ‘honor killing,’ saying the elder Almaleki killed his daughter because she dishonored the family by not following traditional Iraqi or Muslim values.”

— “Almaleki was charged with two additional felony counts for leaving the scene of a serious injury accident.”
— “Thomas said his office is still determining whether to seek the death penalty for Almaleki. He called the case ‘tragic,’ saying the county will prosecute Almaleki to the full extent.”
— “At Almaleki’s initial court appearance on Oct. 31, county prosecutor Stephanie Low said he admitted deliberately running down his daughter.”

Hizb ut-Tahrir America Says “Dhimmi” Schools Permitted for Jews, But Nothing Like Today’s Schools

Religious extremist group Hizb ut-Tahrir America allows that “Dhimmi” Jews are permitted to have schools, but “it has nothing to do with schools as we know them today.”  The term “Dhimmi” is a term of a non-Muslim group living in willing servitude under religious extremist masters, known as “Dhimmitude.”

Hizb ut-Tahrir America’s report on “Dhimmi’s and Schools”

“Q4. It is recorded in Sahih Al-Bukhari, in The Book of Al-Jizyah, in the chapter of expelling the Jews from the Arabian Peninsula, narrated by Abu Hurairah (ra) who said: ‘While we were in the Masjid, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم came out and said: ‘Set forth to the Jews,’ so we set out until we reached Bayt Al-Madraas (a building where the Jews taught the Torah), then he صلى الله عليه وسلم said to them, ‘Become Muslim, and you are safe, and know that this land belongs to Allah and His Messenger. I wish to expel you from this land, so whoever (wants to sell some of their precious belongings), then he should do so, otherwise know that this land belongs to Allah and His Messenger’. ”

“This Hadith has confused us. We see from the Hadith that the Jews had their own schools, so some of us understood that this is only related to the Jews that were isolated, such as Bani Quraydha or Khaybar, where it is not a problem that they have their own schools. But some of us derived that it is more accurate that these were Dhimmi’s (Ahl Al-dhimma) from those left over after the events of Bani Quraydha and Khaybar, which means that it is permitted to allow private schools for Dhimmi’s and this is the problem! Please clarify this matter.”

Answer:

“The subject of Al-Madraas”

“You strayed into the topic of whether this is related to Dhimmi’s or the Jews, which led you to become confused about the Hukum of whether or not they were Dhimmi’s, linking this to the permissibility of allowing private schools for Dhimmi’s.”

“The matter is simpler than that. The matter is not related to schools, but rather is related to permitting Dhimmi’s to teach their religions. The word “Al-Madraas” is an attachment to their place of worship, where they teach their Torah and scriptures, and it is permitted for the Dhimmi’s to teach their religions amongst themselves. This is different from schools as we know them today.”

“To clarify the matter, it was stated in Al-Qamoos Al-Muheet that the word “Madraas” has two meanings: The first meaning is a place where Jews read their Torah. The second meaning is a place where they gather for their celebrations to eat and drink.”

“It was also stated in Lisaan Al-Arab that the word has two meanings: The first meaning is a place where they gather for their celebrations to pray in. The second meaning is a day where they eat and drink.”

“So you can see that a Madraas is no more than an attachment to their places of worship, where they teach their religion amongst themselves, or it is a day on which they eat and drink (such as celebration for them) or something similar. In either case, it has nothing to do with schools as we know them today.”

Pakistan: Islamist Extremists Threaten, Suicide Bombing Against Pakistan Press Club

After repeated threats by the extremist Taliban against the Peshawar Press Club, on December 22, 2009, a suicide bomber attacked the media site in Peshawar, Pakistan, killing several individuals.

DAWN reported on the threats by the Taliban against the Peshawar Press Club, and the increased security measures that made no difference in preventing the suicide bomber attack: “Taliban militants, who are powerful in northwest Pakistan, threatened media in Peshawar, said the president of the press club, Shamim Shahid. ‘We beefed up security after the threats and people coming to the club were properly checked,’ he said.”

Just slightly over a week earlier, other reports had shown how the Peshawar Press Club had become site for those arguing about “conspiracies” of the U.S. against Pakistan, and arguing that Pakistan should support the Afghanistan Taliban’s “nationalistic” goal.  On December 16, 2009, Dawn reported that “On Monday, the Peshawar Press Club was the venue of a seminar entitled ‘Conspiracies of US and India against Pakistan’ at which the speakers advocated talks with the Taliban on the grounds that the fight in Afghanistan is a ‘nationalist struggle’ and the violence in Pakistan is the direct result of the American presence in the region.”

Anti-democracy, extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir has also repeatedly appeared at the Peshawar Press Club.  On December 20, 2009 in Chicago, Hizb ut-Tahrir America hosted an event calling for an end to military activities against the Taliban.  Hizb ut-Tahrir recently provided an “open letter to the Ulema of Pakistan” in which it states that “America is an open, hostile, kafir enemy of Muslims.”

Press agency Sify reports that the suicide bomber was a teenager:  “An eyewitness said the suicide bomber appeared to be 17 or 18 years old.”

Jordan: Study finds Islamist extremist political parties not concerned about equality, human rights

Jordan: Study finds Islamist parties least concerned with human rights
— Jordan Times:

OIC Losing Support in United Nations

CNS reports:
“The latest in a string of religious defamation resolutions considered by the General Assembly and human rights bodies over the past decade saw more countries than ever oppose the measure.”
“The resolution passed by 80 votes to 61 against, with 42 countries abstaining. The result is the worst ever for the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) member states and their allies, many of them not free democracies. It marks a continuing decline since 2007, when in the wake of the Mohammed newspaper cartoon furor a similar resolution passed by a vote of 108-51, with 25 abstentions.”
“Not only has the number of countries opposing the move climbed (see graph), but several member states in the developing world have moved from supporting the resolutions to abstaining.”

“The drive to have defamation of religion outlawed has triggered a growing counter-campaign by freedom of expression groups, humanist organizations, and advocates for the rights of Christians and other non-Muslim minorities in the Islamic world, including coverts from Islam who are considered ‘apostates.’ ”
“Although the resolutions are non-binding, they are taking place in conjunction with a separate OIC-led push to have an existing, legally-binding anti-racism treaty, the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD), amended to cover speech deemed as religiously defamatory.”
“In a letter written to member states ahead of the vote, Angela Wu, international law director of the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty – a leading opponent of the resolutions – argued that the measures ‘provide international support for domestic blasphemy laws that have been used by oppressive regimes to silence, rather than protect, vulnerable minorities and dissenters.’ ”
“Wu contested the very concept of religious defamation, saying the human rights law systems is meant to protect individuals, not ideas or religions.”

— But another woman tells Jakarta Globe: “I’m not afraid of the Shariah police. I believe that a person should not be judged by what they wear. It is the heart that matters, not a piece of cloth.”
