In the United Kingdom, anti-democracy leader of the banned group “Islam4UK” Anjem Choudary has condemned and spoke of threats to the new Muslim woman Member of Parliament (MP) Sayeeda Warsi.

The UK Daily Star reported on Anjem Choudary’s rant against the woman Muslim minister, reporting that Anjem Choudary stated: “Sayeeda Warsi is not a Muslim in my eyes. She may look like a Muslim and have a Muslim-sounding name but she does not represent Islam or anyone in this country who is a Muslim. She is a ‘coconut,’ brown on the outside but white on the inside. In fact, she is whiter than most of the other white people in government. How can she be a Muslim and support the military involvement of the British Army in Islamic countries? She is somebody who pretends to be a practising Muslim but, from her views and statements, she is clearly against Sharia. She is a disgrace and many true Muslims are angry that she claims to stand for Islam despite betraying Allah.”
The Daily Star also reports that Anjem Choudary stated that Sayeeda Warsi would be the target of hate, stating: “She will be attacked by eggs every time she goes near a Muslim community. Some more extreme protesters may take the attacks further. There is no doubt she is in danger.”
In regards to an upcoming protest in Belgium, Choudary told the Daily Star “there will be blood on the streets.”
Media reports state that “students” of the anti-democracyextremist organization “Islam4UK” leader Anjem Choudary attacked MP George Galloway’s entourage at a public event. BBC is reporting that Anjem Choudary claims the report is “fabricated.” Anjem Choudary has repeatedly called for the end of secular democracy and human rights in the United Kingdom.

Even if you strip this one person of their citizenship, silence them temporarily, you will still not have begun to deal with the real issue. Too many focus on Anjem Choudary as the “most hated man in Britain.” How does this further a useful dialogue on human rights?
Of course, it doesn’t, because too many have not yet realized that defense of our universal human rights are the strongest offense against any extremist ideology and their adherents.
No matter what the UK government does with Islam4UK and Anjem Choudary, there will be another and another and another to take their place. Muting, imprisonment, even hate, does not counter ideas. In a struggle of ideas, you can’t use counterterrorism tactics, you can’t use gag orders, and you can’t use demonizing to effectively challenge ideas. Even if the ideas are ones of extremism and hate.
You need to fight ideas with other ideas.
In July 2008, I met with the UK Home Office RICU’s representative in Washington DC. I urged him to reconsider RICU’s approach, and learn from the U.S. human rights movement in challenging white supremacism in their country during the 1960s. I believe that extremism, like white supremacism, must be acknowledged as an identity-based supremacist ideology that defies equality, defies liberty, and defies our universal human rights. The lesson to learn here is that we must be consistent in how we approach any supremacist ideology in the public, the media, and the government. That is the thing I believe too many still have not yet learned.
We need to fight extremism and supremacism by defending our universal human rights, honestly, freely, openly – and fearlessly.

The United Kingdom’s anti-democracy, extremist group “Islam4UK” has made yet another wild claim of a plan to hold a public event, this time a plan for a “march” in Wiltshire’s Wootton Bassett, where dead UK soldiers’ bodies are “repatriated.” As the Scottish Sun reports, “The bodies of most of the British troops killed in Afghanistan have been driven through the town near Swindon, Wilts, in repatriation ceremonies after being flown home. ” The London Telegraph reports that Islam4UK’s Anjem Choudary also plans to harass the parents of dead British soldiers by writing them letters with his view of “the reality of what they died for.”

In its latest claim for an “event,” Islam4UK claims that

The destination of this very special event is the small market town of Wootton Bassett, located 6 miles Southwest of Swindon, in northern Wiltshire; Wootton Bassett, is currently famous for its public mourning processions held in memory of British soldiers killed whilst on military service in Afghanistan; coffins containing the dismembered bodies of these soldiers are usually draped in union jack flags and driven through the town centre from RAF Lyneham, as a tribute to their ‘sacrifice’. The proposed march by members of Islam4UK is however of a very different venture, held not in memory of the occupying and merciless British military, but rather the real war dead who have been shunned by the Western media and general public as they were and continue to be horrifically murdered in the name of Democracy and Freedom – the innocent Muslim men, women and children. It is quite extraordinary, that with well over 100,000 Muslims killed in Afghanistan in the last 8 years that those military serviceman who have directly or indirectly contributed to their death are paraded as war heroes and moreover honoured for what is ultimately genocide. Islam4UK will not march against the Afghanistan extremist Taliban murdering Muslims, including the recent report of 6 Afghan men beheaded by the Taliban. The Muslim “war dead” from extremists will never be challenged by Islam4UK propagandists.
