American ISIS Recruit from Minnesota Reportedly Killed

Minnesotan Douglas MacArthur McCain, a native of San Diego, California, was reportedly killed in fighting in Syria, after becoming an American recruit to the ISIS terrorist organization.   McCain had left to join the ISIS terrorist organization from Minnesota, where he was living. Douglas MacArthur McCain was a graduate from Robbinsdale Cooper High School in New Hope, Minnesota, converted to Islam in 2004, and traveled to Syria by way of Turkey in early 2014.  On August 26, 2014, NBC News reported “Photos of McCain’s passport and of his body — which feature a distinctive neck tattoo — have been seen by NBC News. According to an activist linked to the Free Syrian Army who also saw the body and travel document, McCain was among three foreign jihadis fighting with ISIS who died during the battle.”  “Public records searches show several run-ins with the law. One mugshot of a Douglas McAuthur McCain details an arrest in 2000 at the age of 19 in New Hope on charges of disorderly conduct. Another arrest record – also from New Hope – shows the same man was arrested again in 2006 and booked on charges of obstruction. ” “McCain, 33, called himself “Duale ThaslaveofAllah” on Facebook and his Twitter bio reads: “It’s Islam over everything.” ” His likes on Facebook ranged from “Quaran and Hadith” to “The Khilafah in Universe,” “A Way to Paradise” to “Craziest Street Fights,” “The American Comedy Co.” to “The Black Flag.”

NBC also stated “U.S. officials have said ‘a small handful’ of Americans are believed to be fighting with ISIS. Earlier this month, a new ISIS propaganda video claimed to feature an American citizen. And in July, chilling video emerged purporting to show the first American to carry out a suicide attack in Syria burning his U.S. passport and issuing threats against the West.”

Continuing Protests in Ferguson for Equality

On August 17, 2014, Ferguson protesters were met with tear gas and tactical units, including one of the protesters shot and critically wounded. The Governor of Missouri called in the National Guard to restore order.

On August 19, 2014, NBC reported of a dangerous situation when protesters “surged forward and back as the officers held their ground. An armored vehicle began moving toward the crowd, and as clergymen and other community leaders locked arms to hold the protesters back, the crowd appeared to retreat about 10 p.m. (11 p.m. ET).”

Ferguson Protests for Equality

In Ferguson, Missouri, over the past several days, the protests in response to reported police brutality in the death of Michael Brown has swelled. Michael Brown was shot by a police officer on August 9, reportedly due to failure to not walk in the street. His body was left in the street for hours.

Responsible for Equality And Liberty (R.E.A.L.) stands for our consistent universal human rights, dignity, and security, around the world, including in the United States. We reject the use of authoritarian groups and military measures to oppress, harass, and persecute any identity group, including human rights violations against African-Americans in the United States of America. Our universal human rights must apply equally around the world, including in American cities.

By the next day, Sunday, August 10, the area police had assembled 150 officers in riot gear. The show of military type force had the opposite affect on protesters, rather than restoring calm, it instead promoted violence, including police violence, people confronting police, looting and vandalism. This led to more riots on the night of August 10.

On Monday, August 11, policed fired tear gas and rubber bullets outside a burned convenience store which had been set on fire on August 10. The police also fired gas and rounds on protesters, including state Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal.

Additional protests have taken place this week, with protesters carrying signs and many held their hands in the air while shouting “don’t shoot!”

This included another violent clash on the night of Wednesday, August 13, where police also arrested news journalists. CNN reported one police officer calling protesters “f**king animals” during his “enforcement” of the law. Also arrested on Wednesday August 13, was St. Louis alderman Antonio French, who was protesting with the group.

The militarization of the police is a troubling issue, and the American people must ask our police what law are they enforcing, if the authority we grant our police violates our Constitution and our universal human rights.

We must all be responsible for equality and liberty.

A video of Al Qaeda American terrorist Moner Mohammad Abusalha aka “Abu Huraya al-Amriki” shows him ripping and burning his passport, and stating “You think you’re safe where you are, in America or Britain… You think you are safe, you are not safe.” NBC reported that the terrorist stated in a video ranting in English against the West, warning that it is ‘going to the dirt’ and to prepare ‘to enter the hellfire of Allah.’ ‘We are coming for you,’ he tells the camera. ‘Mark my words.’ ”

May 28, 2014 – Florida Al-Qaeda Recruit is Suicide Bomber in Syria

A report on the case of American terrorist Moner Mohammad Abusalha aka “Abu Huraya al-Amriki” from Florida indicates that he was responsible for a suicide bombing against a Syrian government building. The terrorist was affiliated with Al-Qaeda backed group al-Nusrah Front.

NBC reported: “The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed the suicide bombing and said they have identified the American. They declined to release his identity or hometown. Word of the American’s death in the suicide bombing first surfaced Tuesday in tweets from the al-Nusra Front, an al Qaeda-linked group fighting the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad.
The tweets identified the bomber only by his Arabic nom de guerre, “Abu Hurayra al-Amriki,” (Abu Hurayra the American) and said he carried out one of four suicide bombings of Syrian government sites in Jabal al-Arbaa’in in Idlib Province — the scene of heavy fighting in recent weeks and months. “Abu Hurayra Al-Amriki performed a martrydom operation in Idlib, Jabal Al-Arba’een. May Allah accept him,” it said. he tweet included an image of a young, bearded and smiling Caucasian man holding a cat, as well as images of the bombing it said he had carried out. (One U.S. official pointed out that “Abu Hurayra” translates from Arabic as “father of the kitten” or “of the kitten,” and was the name adopted by a cat-loving companion of Muhammad, the founder of Islam.) Another tweet, this one in Arabic, included a photo showing the same light-skinned man sitting on the ground wearing what appeared to be a suicide vest.” “The incident is believed to be the first suicide bombing by a U.S. citizen in the Syrian civil war. Three Americans were confirmed to have carried suicide attacks in Somalia on behalf of another al Qaeda linked group, al Shabab, between 2009 and 2011.” “Syrian rebel sources based in London tell NBC News that other jihadi tweets suggest the American was of Palestinian descent.”
