Louisiana: New KKK Trial Date Set for April 5 – Murder of Cynthia Lynch

— St. Tammany News reports on the ongoing trial involved with those accused to have been involved with the murder of KKK recruit Cynthia Lynch, who chose to reject white supremacism.
— St. Tammany News reports:
— “The trial of accused murderer Raymond “Chuck” Foster’s has been continued again.”
— “The alleged imperial wizard of the Ku Klux Klan was set to appear before state Judge Peter Garcia on second-degree murder charges Wednesday.”
— “However, Rick Wood, spokesman for District Attorney Walter Reed, said the case has been continued again as the state and defense continues to work on their cases.”
— “He said typically murder cases take a long time to put together and come to trial, and he did not foresee this one being ready until sometime in the spring at the earliest.”
— “A new trial date has been set for April 5.”
— “Foster has been charged with the murder of an Oklahoma woman, Cynthia Lynch, whom detectives believe was shot at a campsite in Sun after she tried to back out of a KKK initiation exercise.”

Cynthia Lynch did not deserve to die for rejecting white supremacism….

— “Police investigating the vandalism of Muslim graves in south Manchester have made an arrest. ”
— “A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated criminal damage and has been bailed until 11 March 2010 pending further inquiries. ”
— “Officers are investigating three incidents at Southern Cemetery in October and November 2009, when several headstones were pushed over and vandalised.”
— “Inquiries are ongoing, and police are continuing to appeal for information.”

— London Times reports: “A senior official at Amnesty International has accused the charity of putting the human rights of Al-Qaeda terror suspects above those of their victims.”
— “Gita Sahgal, head of the gender unit at Amnesty’s international secretariat, believes that collaborating with Moazzam Begg, a former British inmate at Guantanamo Bay, ‘fundamentally damages’ the organisation’s reputation.”
— “In an email sent to Amnesty’s top bosses, she suggests the charity has mistakenly allied itself with Begg and his ‘jihadi’ group, Cageprisoners, out of fear of being branded racist and Islamophobic.”
— “Sahgal describes Begg as ‘Britain’s most famous supporter of the Taliban’. He has championed the rights of jailed Al-Qaeda members and hate preachers, including Anwar al-Awlaki, the alleged spiritual mentor of the Christmas Day Detroit plane bomber.”
— “Sahgal, who has researched religious fundamentalism for 20 years, has decided to go public because she feels Amnesty has ignored her warnings for the past two years about the involvement of Begg in the charity’s Counter Terror With Justice campaign.”
— “‘I believe the campaign fundamentally damages Amnesty International’s integrity and, more importantly, constitutes a threat to human rights,’ Sahgal wrote in an email to the organisation’s leaders on January 30. ‘To be appearing on platforms with Britain’s most famous supporter of the Taliban, whom we treat as a human rights defender, is a gross error of judgment.'”

— National Post reports: “An American neo-Nazi who advocated killing an Ottawa activist and overthrowing the Canadian government by force has been acquitted of uttering threats.”
— “William A. White was charged in 2008 after he wrote repeatedly on his website and in his magazine that Canadian human rights lawyer Richard Warman should be assassinated.”
— “A jury convicted White of threatening Mr. Warman but this week a U.S. District Court judge in Virginia overturned the verdict, ruling his actions did not amount to threats.”
— James Judge Turk: “Certainly, calling for Richard Warman to be ‘dragged out into the street and shot, after appropriate trial by a revolutionary tribunal of Canada’s white activists’ or expressing hope that someone firebombs his house is offensive and disturbing, and perhaps frightening to Richard Warman.”
— “But he said White’s actions were protected free speech and could not be considered threats because he had not indicated he intended to commit violence against the Canadian.”
— “The judge upheld three other convictions against White stemming from intimidation and threats. White is to be sentenced on April 14 and faces up to 30 years in prison.”

— “The department therefore found no basis on which to ban the disc, the report quoted director Elke Monsen-Engberding as saying.”
