National Press Club, 529 14th Street, NW 13th Floor, Washington DC - Morrow Room - December 9 - 12 - 3 PM

Responsible for Equality And Liberty (R.E.A.L.) will be holding a Human Rights Day press conference on Thursday, December 9 at the National Press Club, Morrow Room from 12 to 3 PM.  The press conference will include activists on many different fronts in human rights issues.  The theme of this year’s Human Rights Day press conference will be “Compassion and Human Rights.”  We believe that increased compassion for our fellow human beings is one of the answers to improving the state of human rights for all people around the world.

On the December 9 press conference, we will have speakers on issues in the United States, Pakistan, China, Sudan, and other global issues of importance to all human beings, as well as women’s rights.  We will be addressing the need to stop oppression of those based on their beliefs and religious views. We will also have a speaker on the cruel practice of stoning.

R.E.A.L. is a volunteer, non-partisan human rights activist group, whose focus is the shared support of our universal human rights of equality and liberty for all human beings.  We urge respect and human dignity for our fellow human beings.  We urge all to Choose Love, Not Hate, Love Wins.

By Metro

1. Take Metro to Metro Center.
2. Take the 13th Street Exit, take escalator to 13th Street; you should be at the corner of 13th and G Streets.
3. Walk one block south to F Street.
4. Turn right (West) and walk one block to 14th Street
5. Turn left and walk downhill to the National Press Building lobby.
6. Enter and take the elevators to the 13th Floor

From Montgomery County

1. Take River Road south to Goldsboro Road and turn Right.
2. Turn Left onto Massachusetts Avenue.
3. Follow Massachusetts Avenue to 14th Street NW and turn right.
4. From 14th Street turn left onto G Street – the PMI Garage is halfway down the block on the left at 1325 G Street
5. Walk out of the garage and turn right. At 14th Street turn left. Walk 1 1/2 blocks to the entrance to the National Press Building.
6. Enter and take the elevators to the 13th Floor

From Virginia

I-395 North

1. Follow signs to 14th Street Bridge; Exit to 14th St
2. Continue north on 14th St past Washington Monument past Freedom Plaza and Pennsylvania Ave
3. The National Press Building is in the next block, next door to the J.W. Marriott Hotel

Memorial Bridge

1. Cross Memorial Bridge to D.C.
2. Bear left at the Lincoln Memorial.
3. Right on Constitution Ave
4. Left on 15th St
5. Right on F St
6. The National Press Building is at the corner of 14th and F St next to the J.W. Marriott Hotel

I-66

1. Take I-66 east across the Roosevelt Bridge into D.C.
2. This becomes Constitution Ave.

From Baltimore

1. Take the Baltimore-Washington Parkway south and exit at New York Ave (Route 50)

Parking

The PMI garage is located on the north side of G St between 13th and 14th Streets. Carr Park is located at the corner of 15th and F Streets.
