DC: August 2 Conference on Attacks against Pakistan Christians
In Washington DC on Monday August 2, 2010, the Pakistan Christian Congress will have a meeting in remembrance of the horrific attacks against Pakistani Christians on August 1, 2009 in Gojra, Punjab, which led to the “Black Day” protests in 2009. It will have speakers to protest the continuing plight of Pakistani Christians. On July 19, 2010, two Christian brothers were killed on a court house steps in broad daylight by masked men; the brothers had been fraudulently charged with “blasphemy,” and the charges were on the verge of being dismissed.
The Pakistan Christian Congress, and its Pakistan Christian Post, has also spoken out on the mistreatment of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hindus, and religious minorities in Pakistan. See additional reports on religious minorities oppressed in Pakistan at R.E.A.L.
